L’ Escale : At the corner of the Place des Tilleuls in La Noue-Sainte-Marie, the hotel-restaurant l’Escale has just opened with a new team at the helm. Five years after a fire that sounded the death knell of the establishment, three couples of local friends have just given a new lease on life to this Maritese institution. A purchase project matured for two years by Eric and Ludivine Neveu, resulted in an association between friends. “We were not destined to work together, it was circumstances that led us to come together on this project,” says Arnaud and Huguette Landry, former owners of the Loix soap factory.

A convergence of means for the cost of the building of 500 m² and the works were combined with the know-how of the 3rd couple of buyers. Indeed, Yoann Leraut, former chef of the hotel-restaurant l’Océan in Bois-Plage for fourteen years, is the culinary guarantor completing the triptych, he has jumped into the breach with his wife Sandrine.

Friends in life, partners from now on, each one found its place. In the kitchen for Yoann, the hotel with its 11 rooms for Sandrine, Ludivine ensures the administrative side, Arnaud and Huguette are the link between bar, restaurant and hotel. As for Eric, he has kept his job as an oyster farmer in La Flotte and supplies Yoann in the kitchen with precious shellfish.

Entirely renovated and arranged, the establishment tends towards a purified aesthetic “classy, functional and especially without fuss”, summarizes the smiling Sandrine. The new hotel-restaurant required seven months of work in which local craftsmen put in their efforts for an opening at the end of March.

Catherine Le Bouill, a painter from Marrakech, has designed a decoration with a “sea” theme that goes well with a stopover that extends into a daydream. 4 kitchen staff assist the chef at the command of his new pianos for a gustatory symphony around fish and shellfish and other discoveries. The dining room has 60 seats, the terrace 40 where two young Réthais, Tiffany and Sébastien, complete the team.

A stopover as an anchor for the year is taking shape for the 6 captains of the adventure.
